Sue's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Writer's picture: Kimberly WoodKimberly Wood

My mom, Sue, is a wonderful baker, as are many of my relatives. We all love baking- and some of us love to cook, too! I would love to share our family recipe for Chocolate Chips. They can be altered to include white chips, macadamia nuts, or Heath bar chips.

ENJOY- we certainly do!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine:

1 cup Fleischmann's margarine (original sticks)

3/4 cup"Free flowing" light brown sugar

3/4 cup white sugar

Add:

1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

2 large eggs

Blend:

2 1/4 cups white all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

Mix in (with a spoon) 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Place spoonfuls of batter onto a cookie sheet that has been covered with a sheet of parchment paper. (12 to each pan)

Bake in oven (one sheet of cookies at a time) for 7-9 minutes, depending on your preference for soft or firm cookies.

When cooled, transfer to a container, separating each layer of cookies with parchment paper to ensure the cookies will not stick together while being stored.

:) Enjoy!!
